Moving On

So, as I said I need to improve my vocabulary, I have actually started learning words and paying attention to them which I was not doing earlier. While reading Maya Angelou i came across a word which was

fink which means an informer, a strange and undesirable person or to withhold promise support or appreciation. So, from now onwards I can use it in a sentence like 'You are being such a fink, get lost'. or I can write 'They told they would help us, but then finked out'.

Also, one more word Vindication. Now vindication is a word which I knew already but for the first time I paid attention to the word. And realized that I can use the word to connect two actions or two feelings. Like I can use it as 'Pain was vindication for his harsh attitude'. Here the word vindication acted like a bridge between pain and harshness.

Another word which I liked was Staccato. I really like the way this word sounds, and now i have started realizing that most of the people do speak in staccato..that is in short sentences. The word is in context of notes in a symphony but can be used to define the way of speaking or behaving.

So, playing with words is interesting and using them aptly is an art, which cannot  be mastered by all. Whenever I read a book I feel I am moving in a flow..from first chapter to the last. So, for a writer to create a flow and ripples in between is very important. But what happens in case where there are a number of detached sequences that going in parallel, in that case the flow is broken in between and shifted to some other character or scene. That has to be done smoothly so that the reader does not get confused or does not feel like giving up.
